Botley Hill Barn is one of those venues that manages to tick every single box. Light-filled modern barn? Tick. Rolling hills and stunning views? Tick. A perfect blend of rustic charm and elegant touches? Tick. When Jess & Luke told me they were planning their wedding here, I already knew it was going to be something special, and oh wow, it absolutely was! Let’s dive into the details of Jess & Luke’s wedding day, alongside some beautiful Botley Hill Barn wedding photography.

Botley Hill Barn Wedding Venue

For those not familiar, Botley Hill Barn is tucked away in the Surrey Hills, and quite simply feels like something straight out of a countryside daydream. Surrounded by lush greenery and panoramic views, it really has it all. Botley Hill Barn offers both indoor and outdoor ceremony options. The main Oakley Barn ceremony space is gorgeous with red brick walls and a beautiful fireplace. If you’d like to say ‘I do’ in nature, you can choose one of the two licensed lawn spaces with the Surrey Hills as your backdrop. But the real show stopper of Botley Hill Barn is the Main Barn, with its huge windows overlooking the incredible landscape.

This venue is just so well thought out. It flows beautifully and has that rare mix of feeling cosy and intimate while also being incredibly stylish. It’s ideal for couples who want something modern but not too polished, the kind of place where you can wear designer heels but also kick them off to dance barefoot at the end of the night.

Jess & Luke’s Beautiful Botley Hill Barn Wedding

From the very beginning, Jess & Luke’s whole approach to their wedding was about keeping things joyful, personal and completely them. They got ready in the lovely on-site cottages with their bridesmaids and groomsmen. Jess looked absolutely stunning in a beautiful layered dress with floral details. Luke wore a lovely cream suit with burnt orange accents, perfect for their autumnal September wedding.

Their ceremony took place in the Oakley Barn, and was full of so much joy and laughter. They had a beautiful confetti exit with dried flower petals, before everyone flowed out into the gardens for the drinks reception.

The Main Barn looked absolutely incredible with rich autumn colours and carefully thought out details. They had long banquet-style tables, and I particularly loved the pampas grass centrepieces! Their cake was absolutely breathtaking too, perfectly aligned to their wedding theme and featuring gorgeous floral pieces.

Speeches were such a joy to capture, full of laughter and toasts to the newlyweds. So many heartfelt and funny stories were shared, and it’s always such a privilege to witness. This is one of my favourite times to capture great candids too!

For couple portraits at Botley Hill Barn, you are seriously spoilt for choice. From the iconic windows of the Main Barn, the lovely gardens, and the incredible countryside views, every corner is pure magic.

We of course had to also have some super fun bridal party photos, with smoke bombs and a champagne spray!

And the party? Absolutely delivered. The dancefloor was full of energy, and the perfect way to end such an incredible celebration.

The Benefits of an Engagement Session

Rewinding to before their wedding day, I met Jess & Luke for their engagement session at Virginia Water Lake. They brought along their gorgeous dog Frank, who absolutely stole the show. Just look at that face!

I absolutely love doing engagement sessions with my couples. They are such a fab way to get to know each other, have a laugh, and capture some beautiful images along the way. It makes such a difference on the wedding day too. Jess & Luke knew exactly how I worked, felt confident for their photos, and we already felt like friends, making everything feel more natural and fun.

Also, having your dog in your engagement photoshoot? Highly recommend. Frank was a total star and added so much character to the photos.
